Design Exercise
Underdog DFS

Underdog is an up and coming fantasy sports app hoping to compete with the likes of FanDuel and Draft Kings, offering a variety of different daily fantasy sports games.

I love fantasy sports and have been playing for years, so I thought it would be fun to do a quick redesign of one of their screens, the lineup points tracker.

For the quick redesign, I focused mostly on personal preferences for things I’ve noticed I liked and didn’t like about their current experience, to include:

  • Showing the head-to-head score.

  • With the head-to-head section, I also made sure to include the innings remaining for both players, as opposed to having to swipe back and forth to see it in Underdog’s current experience.

  • Brought information to the main screen instead of being 1-click away, such as game start times, current inning and score, and stats contributing to the individual player’s point total.

  • Due to bringing the head-to-head design at the top, I created a toggle that lets you switch between player lineups as well as indicates whose lineup you’re looking at.

  • Utilized the available space a bit more, making things more legible and easier to scan.
