Design Exercise
Underdog DFS
Underdog is an up and coming fantasy sports app hoping to compete with the likes of FanDuel and Draft Kings, offering a variety of different daily fantasy sports games.
I love fantasy sports and have been playing for years, so I thought it would be fun to do a quick redesign of one of their screens, the lineup points tracker.
For the quick redesign, I focused mostly on personal preferences for things I’ve noticed I liked and didn’t like about their current experience, to include:
Showing the head-to-head score.
With the head-to-head section, I also made sure to include the innings remaining for both players, as opposed to having to swipe back and forth to see it in Underdog’s current experience.
Brought information to the main screen instead of being 1-click away, such as game start times, current inning and score, and stats contributing to the individual player’s point total.
Due to bringing the head-to-head design at the top, I created a toggle that lets you switch between player lineups as well as indicates whose lineup you’re looking at.
Utilized the available space a bit more, making things more legible and easier to scan.
